Foundation
The entry point
No experience required — get a feel for the craft and leave with your first Showreel scene.
How long
8 weeks — Wednesday evenings, 6:00pm–9:00pm.
How much?
$187 per week, incl. GST ($1,496 total).
Or $1,421 upfront (5% discount for paying in full).
What do I get?
- 1× Showreel scene, shot on professional cameras
- 24 hours of in-studio training
- A 5% discount on your enrolment fee if you continue to the Screen Craft Intensive

Screen Craft Intensive
The core program
A 30-week journey that prepares you for the rigor of a professional screen acting career.
How long
30 weeks — Monday and Tuesday evenings, 6:00pm–9:00pm.
How much?
$209 per week, incl. GST ($6,270 total).
Or $5,643 upfront (10% discount for paying in full).

- Your own online portfolio site, ready to send to agents and Casting Directors
- 168 hours of intensive screen acting training

Principles of Screen Acting
Your teacher, Dean Francis, has performed on primetime TV and directed hundreds of actors, helming high profile productions across feature film, television and short form with a global audience of millions.
He's developed a unique training method that ensures actors are ready to collaborate on set, bringing technically precise and repeatable performances that are emotionally grounded and highly memorable.
- Listen. To your scene partner, to the room, to what is actually happening. Everything else flows from this.
- Embrace your character. They are you — with different given circumstances. There is no gap between you and them.
- Stay curious. About the world of the scene, your character, and your scene partner — the actor's most important tool.
- Research everything. The world, the period, the profession, the relationships. The more you know, the more freely you can play.
- Always know what you want. Have a clear objective and be able to say it in one sentence. If you can't say it, you can't play it.
- Know every word. If you don't know what it means, find out before you open your mouth.
- Know every reference. Your character lives in a specific world — inhabit it fully.
- Play actions, not emotions. Do things to people. Emotion is the result of truthful action, not the goal.
- Stay open. Let the scene surprise you. Leave room for the other person.
- Own your character completely, without judgment. They may do things you never would. Play them anyway.
- Support your scene partner. Encourage their choices, never direct them. Their success is your success.
- Be honest — with yourself, with the material, and in the room. The camera sees everything.
- Speak clearly. Every word counts on camera. None of them are throwaway.
- Stay truthful in scale. Screen acting lives in the details, not the declarations.
- Be present. Don't perform — live in it. The camera rewards truth and punishes performance.
